Hello there, I’m Leah! Born and raised Floridian who has visited every state (except for Kansas and Alaska). I have lived in a handful of areas of the country, our most recent move was from Philadelphia all the way to California, six months pregnant, nonetheless, because why not?

 

Some would say I’m a bit of a free spirit with rose colored glasses. I make some pretty phenomenal pancakes, am spontaneous and love to laugh excessively, love everything lavender, enjoy a glass of bubbly on a sunny day and never get tired of Hallmark movies. I’m a terrible navigator, somewhat of a coffee snob (hello lavender and vanilla latte), love run-on sentences (Ms. B., my 3rd grade teacher would be so disappointed) a selective procrastinator but only seconday to being a picky perfectionist! 

 

My family is everything to me.. of note I have 200,000+ photos just since the birth of my daughter, and I have yet to edit/organize a single one.. speaking of whom, she is a crazy and clever little 3 year old who could have her own comedy show. She seriously makes me laugh (those hard belly laughs too), usually on a daily basis. I am also a mom to a 10 month old (holy cow time flys) little man who is such a ham bone with a smile that will melt your heart. Our first baby is an Australian Shepherd/chow mix, that my hubby rescued after Katrina in Louisiana. She is commonly mistaken for a bear on hikes, is a selective listener but has the kindest soul and makes a great babysitter. And my soulmate and husband of 5 years who is literally the glue that holds us all together. He not only fuels my passions but is my biggest advocate, support system and encourages me to be my true authentic self. Oh, and did I mention he’s also a culinary chef? I undoubtedly hit the jackpot.

 

Since I was a little girl, photography has been a passion. I took many photography classes in college and would literally spend entire weekends in the darkroom. I have, however, been shooting professionally (sans darkroom) for over 16 years. My initial career goal was to be a fashion photographer in NYC but when my dad became sick and spent 6 month in the ICU, eventually passing, medicine became my second calling. And I absolutely love it too. So when I’m not busy delivering babies, reconnecting bowels and making new boobs as a Physician Assistant, you’ll find me off on an adventure with my family, exploring, and taking way more photos than I’ll ever have time to go through.

 

Life is unpredictable.. whoever coined the phrase “life is a rollercoaster” was spot on.. it’s crazy, messy, at times ugly, but also joyful, and absolutely wonderful. I am not perfect, nobody is, but I want to remember my life, my moments just as they are. That’s why I’m so in love with photography. Capturing that imperfect moment, remembering how you felt, in real time. The sun on your skin, the smell of the grass, the softness of your baby’s skin. One of my biggest regrets was not taking more photos of those I’ve lost. Hence my thousands upon thousands of photos of my loved ones. This is why I am passionate to help you remember your life just as it is (and so YOU can be in them!) So that you can look back and relive those sweet kicks in your belly, the little fingers wrapped around your finger, your silly toddler blowing raspberries or the romantic embrace of your true love. These moments are so precious and last a blink of an eye. Take lots of photos, and again, make sure you’re in them!!
